How to watch Aaron Judge in New York Yankees vs Red Sox baseball

Baseball player Aaron Judge is aiming for a league-record home run today after hitting sixty this season. And in a rather fortuitous turn of events, the decisive game lands on the last day of Apple TV + Friday Night Baseball of the season, the improbable finale for Apple’s first venture into live sports.

Aaron Judge hit his 60th home run of the season on Tuesday against the Pittsburgh Pirates. He needs another today to equal Roger Maris’ American League all-time record of 61, set in 1961. If he hits two home runs, Judge will become the all-time record holder.

The big game is tonight at 7:00 pm ET against the Red Sox at Yankees Stadium. It’s one of two games available today exclusively on the Apple TV platform and streaming as part of the Apple Friday Night Baseball deal.

The Yankee YES network reportedly held talks with Apple to arrange to air the game, which could potentially set the story, on other channels, but Apple declined. So the only way to watch the big game is with the Apple TV app.

How to Watch Friday Night Baseball Yankees vs. Red Sox

If you haven’t already, you’ll need an Apple ID. You can sign up here for a seven-day free trial of Apple TV+. If you need to activate your Apple ID and don’t have an Apple device, follow the steps as if you had an Android phone, you can sign up using the Apple Music app instead.

Note, however, that you don’t have to pay for an Apple TV+ account to watch the games, as Apple streamed all Friday Night Baseball games this season for free. (However, future Friday Night baseball seasons may require a TV+ subscription. This is advertised as a limited-time offer.)

That means all you need to watch Aaron Judge today is an Apple ID and a way to get the Apple TV app. The Apple TV app is available on Apple devices such as iPhone, Apple TV 4K, iPad, and Mac.

In addition, the TV app is also available on third-party platforms including Amazon Fire Stick, Roku, PlayStation, Xbox, Comcast Xfinity and more. You can also watch on a PC in a web browser at

Then just sign in with your Apple ID on the TV app and scroll down to find the Friday Night Baseball section. Click on a game tile to start browsing. If you’re using an Apple device running iOS 15.6 or later, the TV app supports pausing and rewinding a live stream.

While all eyes are on the Red Sox vs. Yankees, the other baseball game tonight is the Cardinals at Dodgers. Both of these games are streaming for free on the Apple TV app today.
